Although, various state\ngovernments had already taken proactive measures to prevent and control the\nspread by announcing a lockdown till the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of March which has now\nbeen extended till April 14<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/li><li>The PM declared a fund\nallocation of Rs 15,000 crore for healthcare services in light of the novel\ncoronavirus outbreak. The funds will be utilized in training the paramedics,\nbuilding coronavirus test\ncentres and dedicated hospitals, procuring coronavirus testing kits and Personal Protective\nEquipment (PPE). <\/li><li>The constitution of a dedicated\nbody, the COVID-19\nEconomic Response Task Force, was also announced to monitor the proceedings on\nthe combat techniques and provide necessary economic support as and when\nrequired. This body will work under the Finance Ministry of India. <\/li><li>Essential services including medicare,\nfood, banking and insurance among others to remain open for the convenience of the\ngeneral public. Since IRDAI has announced a simpler settlement procedure for COVID-19 claim cases, the\nhealth insurance industry is fully operational for customer assistance. <\/li><li>The PM urged the nation to cooperate\nand encourage the paramedics and supporting staff in fighting the pandemic who\nhad previously complained regarding verbal abuse from the patients and their\nrelatives.<\/li><li>He stressed upon \u2018Social Distancing\u2019\nand to refrain from unessential movement. He asked people to exercise restrain\nand stay at home in order to keep safe and healthy during these difficult\ntimes. <\/li><li>The PM, in his speech, assured\nthe citizens that there will be no scarcity of essential goods like water,\nmilk, bread, vegetables, flour, and grains.
