Core features

This latest Redmi phone has an aesthetic 6.53 inches full High Definition Plus display with a 1080p X 2340 p resolution. Its aspect ratio is a good 19:5:9, and it has a pixel density of 394 ppi with a brightness of 400 nits. The glass is a sturdy Gorilla Glass 3. It has a plastic back and a plastic frame, just like other Redmi phones. It weighs 198 grams, which is below the 200 grams mark and can be accepted.

The powerhouse of this phone is its MediaTek Helio G80 2GHz processor with eight strong cores. For the gamers, the GPU is a Mali- G53. RAM is upto 4GB and internal storage goes upto 64GB. There is a microSD card space too, in case you want to expand the storage capacity.

At the backside of this phone are four brilliant cameras which include

  • A 13MP main lens with an aperture of f/2.2
  • An 8MP ultra-wide shooter with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 118 degrees field of view
  • A 5MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4
  • A 2MP depth sensor

The rear camera is equipped with features such as Kaleidoscope, portrait mode. Besides, it is capable of video shooting with a 1080p quality at 30fps.

At the front, the latest Redmi phone has an 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and a field of view of 77.8 degrees. The front camera doesn’t lack features either. It comes with a palm shutter, HDR, portrait modem self-timer and  screen flash.

The latest Redmi phone is supported by a potent 5,020 mAh battery and an 18W Quick Charger 3.0 support for fast charging through a 10W charger in the box. At this price range, this range of battery support is a steal considering a lot of high-end phones have lower battery capacities.

The Redmi 9 even has an AI Face Lock, which is again a great bargain at the affordable price. Plus, there is an additional fingerprint sensor at the rear for added security. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, FM Radio, GPS, NFC, 4G VoLTE, AGPS, and an infrared sensor. On-board sensors include a distance sensor, vibration motor, and an electronic compass, etc. There is, of course, a 3.5mm audio jack as well.
