Oppo Reno 2 has a quad-Camera Setup with 20x Zoom

Oppo is gearing for the launch of three new smartphones in the new Oppo Reno 2 series. For the first time, Oppo fans will get to see a quad-camera setup. On its official Weibo page, the Chinese smartphone maker has released a series of teasers revealing some key pieces of information about the phone. Here’s all you need to know about the new Oppo Reno2 phone.

Design and Display

Design-wise, Reno2 looks similar to the original Reno series with a curved glass rear panel and the vertical rear camera placed on top of the phone. On the front, Oppo Reno 2 will feature a 6.55-inches full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a screen to body ratio of 93.1%. It will include a third-generation optical fingerprint sensor, placed inside the display. Further, the front glass will be protected by gorilla glass 6 and the backside of the phone will be protected by gorilla glass 5. Moreover, Reno2 will be available in two colours – ocean blue and luminous black.

Camera

Reno2 will offer a quad-camera setup on the rear with a 48 megapixels primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. It will also include an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 13 megapixels 5x hybrid zoom camera and a 2 megapixels depth sensor. Moreover, the device will have a 20x digital zoom feature. Combining the four lenses, it will offer greater colour accuracy and more vivid details in every photo you take. The camera will also be loaded with Ultra Dark Mode, Portrait Mode, Ultra Steady Videos, 3D audio zoom, Real-time portrait videos, and hybrid image stabilization – all of which will deliver clearer, steadier videos even in dark conditions. Coming to its selfie camera, the phone will sport a shark Fin pop-up 16-megapixel front camera, similar to the original reno series.

Performance

Oppo Reno 2 will be powered by QUALCOMM snapdragon 730G Soc and come with an 8 GB RAM along with 256 GB of storage. It will also support microSD expansion up to 512 GB. Oppo Reno 2 will run on android 9 pie based on the latest colour OS 6.0.1. The GPU Adreno 640 graphics can handle any high-end graphics game. You can use both, the fingerprint sensor and face recognition, to unlock the screen. However, the fingerprint sensor is faster and more accurate compared to the face recognition feature.

Battery and Connectivity

The teaser also shows that Reno2 will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging via a USB Type-C charger. It refuels about fifty percent battery in just thirty minutes. The phone will have a dual sim slot with each sim supporting 4G VoLTE.

Price and release date.
