Ahead of the launch of its premier offering, OPPO has launched the new mid-range A31 in Indonesian markets on 14th February 2020. Affordably priced, this device packs a punch with a host of attractive new features.  The new A31 is the latest 2020 addition to OPPO’s mid-range phones, and is different from the old OPPO A31 that had been launched in 2015.

Here’s a look at the features of the phone.

Performance

The device is powered by an Octa-Core 3 GHz Cortex A53 processor and runs on the Mediatek P35 chipset, paired with a 4GB RAM. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie with the custom Color OS from OPPO layered on top. 

Battery and Media player

A31 is powered by a non-removable 4230mAh battery that is sufficient to run through the day. OPPO A31 is also one of the few touchscreen smartphones that come with an FM Radio receiver.

Display and Screen

The phone features a 6.5-inch screen and an HD+ IPS display with 270 ppi pixel density. The screen-to-body ratio amounts to 83%, and the aspect ratio is 20:9. The offered resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels is soothing for the eyes. The selfie camera is housed in an elegant waterdrop style notch at the top. 

Camera

OPPO brings the triple camera system to budget phones with its 12 MP primary rear camera, 2MP portrait camera with a depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro shooter. The rear camera also offers an autofocus feature along with LED flash. Features like Touch to Focus, Face Detection, and Digital Zoom are additional highlights of the device. The phone also comes with an 8 MP front camera for the perfect selfies.

Storage

A31 ships with a storage capacity of 128 GB, which can be further expanded using the microSD slot. This is sufficient for the standard user who needs to store their pictures and other data within the device for ease of access.

Special features

The phone includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and supports dual SIM. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, 4G VoLTE, and GPS. The device is available in two colours, Mystery Black and Fantasy White, and the body is made of plastic. The phone also contains a fingerprint sensor, placed at the rear end. A31 also consists of an accelerometer, a magnetometer, and proximity and ambient light sensors that support face unlock. The phone measures a height of 163.9 mm, a width of 75.5 mm, and a thickness of 8.3 mm, making it easy to carry around. Weighing only 180 grams, this lightweight phone is comfortable to use.

Price

A31 has only been released in the Indonesian market at a price of IDR 25,99,000, which approximately amounts to INR 13,500. Speculations are on that the phone will be launched in the Indian markets around 23rd April 2020.
