Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Nubia has announced its latest addition to the Red Magic family – the all-new Nubia Red Magic 5G with a whopping 16GB RAM. The novel toy is a cutting-edge combination of a smartphone with advanced gaming features, ergonomic hardware and completely optimized software.

Nubia Red Magic is a relatively heavy phone with a weight of 218 grams and size of 68.56x78x9.75mm. Though chunky, the phone boasts of ‘God Speed’- with a refresh rate screen of 144Hz (highest till date), 5G basebands, octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC, 16GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. It has a dual-SIM capacity and supports latest Android 10.

Display

The phone promises ultimate gaming experience and best-in-class UI through its 6.65-inch AMOLED FHD and a display of (1080 x 2340 pixels) with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz screen touch response rate. It has an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and is powered by custom Adreno 650 GPU.

Battery, connectivity and camera

The massive battery capacity of 4,500mAh is supported by 55W air-cooled fast charging. Nubia claims that the new Red Magic can be charged up to 56% in merely 15 minutes. Moreover, it offers superior connectivity through its with 5G baseband, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm earphone slot. Sounds impressive? Apply for a consumer durable loan today.

The phone sports a triple-rear back camera, which includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The front camera is empowered with 12MP for better selfies.

Colour and storage

The new creation has been introduced in four variants and three bold colours – hacker black, mars red and cyber neon. There is also a transparent edition. These colours are, however, not available across all four variants – 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 12GB RAM with 128GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Pricing

To cater to the growing market of gaming smartphone, the new Nubia Red Magic has been launched to appeal to the middle and higher-income groups. The basic model with 8GB RAM + 128GB is for CNY 3,799 (approximately INR 40,000), the second model is for CNY 4,099 (approximately INR 43,000), the second-top model is for CNY 4,399 (approximately INR 46,000), and the top model (16GB RAM + 256GB) is for CNY 4,999 (approximately INR 52,000). Also, the transparent model is for CNY 4,599 (approximately INR 48,000).

Release dates

The phone is currently only available for pre-sale in China. It will officially launch in the country on March 19 and its global rollout will begin from next month.
