Processor and performance

The base variant is packed with 128GB of internal storage. This is double of what was present in the 2018 base model. The other variants and their storage options remain the same as the predecessor, which includes 256GB, 512 GB, and 1TB options. There is still no addition of a microSD card slot.

LiDAR scanner

The most notable feature of the Apple iPad Pro 2020 is the depth-sensing capacity facilitated by the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanner. It comprises a system of laser beams that help find the exact location of an object at a distance of up to 5 meters. Operating at a speed of nanoseconds, it presents an enhanced 3D mapping technology. This provides an in-depth perception of any scene. The result is an improved augmented reality experience.

Availability and price

The 11-inch WiFi variant is available at prices starting at Rs 71,900; whereas the 12.9-inch WiFi base variant is available at Rs 89,900 onwards. The WiFi + Cellular combination variants cost Rs 85,900 for the 11-inch base model and Rs 1,03,900 for the 12.9-inch one. Preorders have already started from March 18, 2020, while the official release date is March 24. The actual delivery of iPads will start on March 25.
