LG Style3 with 6.1-inch Quad HD+ OLED Display and Snapdragon 845 Announced

LG, the South Korean multinational, has launched Style3 in Japan, which is one of the top 5 global smartphone markets. The release follows LG’s consistent efforts to gain more market share in the Japanese smartphone industry, where it re-entered in December 2019, after a gap of 23 months. Here is a look at the features and pricing of Style3.

Appearance and general features

The design of LG Style3 is similar to that of the recent smartphones launched by the Korean tech major. The phone is considerably sleek and weighs around 162g, as well as allows for stronger grip through 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9mm dimensions. The smartphone runs on Android 10 and provides a fingerprint sensor, a dedicated Google AI with other compatible connectivity features including 4GVoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, 3.5mm headphone slot, Boombox speaker, NFC, Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC and much more. LG Style3 is also dust and water-resistant.

Processor and memory

In terms of the processor, the novel LG Style3 does not do much justice. The phone packs Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is the 2018 flagship version of Qualcomm. But since the chipset is highly compatible with the latest versions, it is expected that the performance of LG Stlye3 will be on par with its competitors. On the brighter side, the new smartphone appeals to the demands of consumers for large data storage and offers 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, expandable up to 512GB through microSD.

Display and camera

LG Style3(L- 41A) has a fairly decent screen size of 6.1-inch QUAD HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixel resolution) with FullVision OLED display and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The display is a notch higher than previous LG smartphones including LG V60 ThinQ, and hence, it is expected that the Indian version will appeal to the consumers as well. Talking about the camera of LG Style3, there is a striking 48MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash, accompanied by a secondary lens of 5MP and an 8MP front camera allowing f/1.9 aperture. Specifically, the camera quality is above the bar and must not be missed given the availability of interest-free loans in the market, allowing the easy purchase of mobile on EMI.

Battery, price and availability

The new LG smartphone packs a 3500mAh battery with USB Type-C and has been made available in the Japanese market for 38,000 Yen, approximately INR 27, 000. Style 3 has been unveiled in two basic colours, mirror black and aurora white. Both colours will be retailed in Japan in June 2020, provided the global COVID-19 situation does not heap on.

While there is no official information about Style3’s availability in the hyper-competitive Indian smartphone market, it is expected that the Korean smartphone maker, who is aspiring for a double-digit Indian growth by mid-2020, will introduce Style3 in the country soon.
