Chinese tech company Huawei recently announced the launch of its newest creation. The Huawei MatePad is a budget-friendly version of the Huawei MatePad Pro, yet pretty much harbors the same features. The tablet comes in three variants and is up for pre-ordering in China. There is no tentative date for its release around the globe, but details of its features are circulating.

Display and resolution

The MatePad has a 10.4 inch IPS LCD WUXGA+ display with a screen resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. The display encompasses features like auto adjusting brightness and contract levels and switching between (unrevealed) display modes effortlessly. A separately sold M-pencil stylus lets users experiment with drawing, writing, sketching and even calligraphy. If you want to buy the tablet as well the stylus but aren’t financially ready for the purchase, then why not opt for consumer durable finance and ease your burden?

Processor and camera

The MatePad is powered by the Octa-Core Kirin 810 7nm processor and runs on the latest Android 10 version with EMUI 10.0.1, a combination which increases the operational efficiency of the tablet. In terms of camera, the tablet has an 8MP front and rear camera, and captures decent clicks. Apart from basic features like LED flash, HDR, time lapse and autofocus, its camera modes remain a mystery. Additionally, the tablet has four speakers and microphones that are backed by the Harman Kardon Audio system.

Battery life and connectivity options

Packing a 7,250 mAh battery life and 18W fast charging capacity, the MatePad is touted to operate for hours at a stretch. The tablet features connectivity options like dual band Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1 and GPS. It has a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Variants and price

The MatePad is available in three different variants and is priced according to the differences in RAM, storage capacity and connectivity systems. The basic variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB (Wi-Fi only version) storage capacity is priced around Rs 20,390. The same version but with a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage capacity is priced approximately at Rs 23,600, and the Wi-Fi plus LTE version with the same RAM and storage capacity is priced around INR 26,840. Furthermore, the tablet has expandable memory and can go up to 512 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

The Huawei Matepad is rumoured to be available in three colours – black, blue and white, but for now, the images of only a white coloured MatePad are in circulation.
