As things take a pleasant turn in China and the country returns to normalcy, Chinese tech company Xiaomi announces the release of its latest Mi 10 Youth Edition smartphone. Also known as Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, the smartphone is part of the Mi 10 series and packs a bunch of exciting new features. Mi 10 runs on the Android 10 operating system with MIUI 11 but can also be upgraded to MIUI 12, which is surprising for a mid-range smartphone. Premium display and glass design

Mi 10 Youth Edition measures 6.57 inches and has an FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR 10+. The smartphone has rounded bezel edges and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is protected by corning gorilla glass 5 and has a glass back that gives it a sheer and luminous appearance.

Upgraded quad camera

Mi 10 has a quad camera setup in a square module and is placed at the top left corner of the smartphone. It has a primary rear camera of 48MP, an ultra-wide 8 MP camera, and a telephoto lens with three zoom capacities – 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom. Lastly, it has a 2MP macro camera and a 16MP front camera with a waterdrop notch.

Powerful processor and battery life

Mi 10 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 7nm processor (octa-core chipset) with Adreno 620 GPU. Its battery capacity stands at 4160 mAh with a 22.5W Qualcomm quick charging capacity. Additionally, Mi 10 is going to be one of Xiaomi’s first 5G phones. Its connectivity options include 5G stand-alone and non-stand-alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks, Dual WiFI and Volte networks, Bluetooth 5, Gps/Glonass and NFC.

Increased storage capacity and price

For a midrange smartphone, Mi 10 Youth edition has storage capacities ranging from basic to extensive. The smartphone has four variants according to its memory capacity and is priced accordingly. Take a look at the bulletin below:

  • Version 1 – 6GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage capacity: Priced at Rs. 22,630.
  • Version 2 – 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity: Priced at Rs. 24, 780.
  • Version 3 – 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity: Priced at Rs. 26,940.
  • Version 4 – 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage capacity: Priced at Rs. 30,150.

However, what remains to be ascertained is if the storage capacity is expandable.  Mi 10 is all set to release around 30th April in China. Globally, there is no confirmed date yet indicating its launch.
