Despite the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the globe, nothing is stopping smartphone makers from keeping their patrons engaged with new launches. The recent launch is by HUAWEI’s e-brand HONOR. The mobile manufacturer has introduced HONOR 9A in the budget segment for the Chinese market. The phone offers some astounding features and sets the bar high for other budget smartphones.

Display and camera

HONOR 9A weighs 185g with dimensions of 159.07 × 74.06 × 9.04. It has a stunning 6.3 wide-inch HD screen and display with an amazing resolution of 1600*720 pixels, as well as an aspect ratio of 20:9. This is at par with so many mid- and even some of the starting high-range phones offered by other brands, especially the Chinese ones. The new HONOR 9A smartphone is powered by a fairly strong 2.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm processor. The phone runs on Android 10 software with Magic UI 3.0.1. It has a 4GB RAM paired with 64GB and 128GB internal storage; also, there is a microSD card slot to enable memory expansion up to 512GB.

Battery and other features

Packed with a massive non-removable 5000mAh battery, HONOR 9A will appeal to consumers rapidly. The phone is supported by 10W fast-charging, which should be enough for all those who need long-hours of interrupted screen dosage. To focus on the smartphone’s connectivity, there is Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS and a micro USB port.

Colour, price and availability

HONOR 9A has been introduced in black blue and jasper green colour, with the base model (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) being priced at Yuan 899 (INR 9,264 approximately) and the higher version (4GB RAM + 128GB storage) available for Yuan 1,199 (INR 12, 836 approximately). The new smartphone has only been launched in China as of now with pre-bookings open for consumers. However, the announcements of its Indian counterpart are expected to surface soon, especially with the current economic lockdown easing slightly in the country.
