Vivo, the Chinese technology company that held a 12% share of the Indian smartphone market in 2019, has recently launched its new powerful device. The brand which was founded in 2009 has always been praised for its noteworthy smartphone performance in a convenient budget. The latest addition to the Vivo smartphone stack is Vivo Y70s 5G, which is all set to claim a good consumer share with its impressive features and smart design.

Display and processor

Vivo Y70s weighs 190g with dimensions of 162.07 × 76.61 × 8.46mm. The novel Vivo smartphone features a 6.53-inch wide (2340 × 1080 pixels) full HD and LCD, with a 90.72 percent screen to body ratio and an aspect ratio display of 19:5:9. It is powered by the mega 2.0GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 880 chipset, which is inbuilt with a SA & NSA dual-mode 5G. Vivo Y70s welcomes a 360-degree antenna design that enabled better connectivity and network signals. The 8nm processor is coupled with 8GB RAM, which is beyond the standard offering of several other Chinese smartphones.

Camera and battery

A special mention must be made of the stunning triple rear camera of Vivo Y70s, which has a punch-hole cutout design. The camera allows users to click high-quality, professional-looking pictures with its 48MP primary lens (f/1.79 aperture), an 8MP 120 degrees ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture), coupled with another 2MP depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture). On the front camera, there is a magnificent 16MP lens with f/2.4 aperture. To add to consumer delight, the phone offers massive battery power. There is a 4,500mAh pack battery with a whopping 18W fast charging support. That is why you cannot miss this new device by Vivo.

Memory and other features

On the memory arm, there is an in-built 6GB and 128GB paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. This is also externally expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card. Even though the memory aspect of the new Vivo Y70s is standard, when evaluated individually, space is enough for a normal user. To highlight the connectivity features, there is Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, 3.5mm audio jack, Dual speakers, GPS and USB Type-C port. The Vivo smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 10.

Price and availability

The basic model of Vivo Y70s (6GB RAM and 128GB storage) has been offered by the company in 1998 Yuan (approximately INR 21,200). However, the top version (8GB RAM and 128GB storage) costs 2198 Yuan (approximately INR 23,330). The smartphone comes in three colours including gradient white, black and blue.

Currently, the phone is available for orders in the Chinese market but the sales will start from June 1, 2020. Also, with the Chinese smartphone company maintaining strong grounds in the Indian smartphone market, the Indian version is expected to be revealed soon.
