Everything you need to know about Meizu 17 and 17 Pro 5G

Chinese smartphone company Meizu recently announced the release of two of its smartphones falling under Meizu’s ’17 series’. Meizu 17 and 17 Pro 5G are the first 5G smartphones developed by the brand and were announced at an event in China. Both smartphones share several similar features and are almost indistinguishable at a cursory glance. Let’s delve into their features and specifications.

Design and display

While Meizu 17 has a glass design, the Pro version has a ceramic finish. Both smartphones have a 2.9 mm punch hole and 3.3 mm narrow bezels. They have a screen to body ratio of 92.2%, attributed to CoF packing technology. Both smartphones have a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The refresh rate of 90Hz and the sampling rate of 180Hz guarantee users a lag-free experience.

Meizu 17 and 17 Pro Design

Quad cameras

Meizu 17 and 17 Pro both have quad cameras. Meizu 17 has a 64MP rear camera which deploys the Sony IMX686 sensor. An 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP field lens camera and a 5MP macro sensor complete its quad set up. Meizu 17 Pro has a 64MP rear camera as well with the same Sony IMX686 sensor. It houses a 2MP ultra-wide angle lens, a telephoto lens and a 3MP depth sensor. Both smartphones have a front camera of 20MP. Apart from the variety of camera lenses, the smartphones have a super night mode 3.0 for capturing high quality shots in low-light surroundings.

Meizu 17 and 17 Pro Cameras

Processor and battery

Both, Meizu 17 and 17 Pro are powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 865 processor. In terms of battery, the smartphones run on a 4500mAh battery that touts 8 hours of uninterrupted 5G video play back. Meizu 17 has 30W charging abilities and Meizu 17 Pro has a 27W charging capacity. However, both smartphones claim to charge up to 56% in half hour, thanks to the wireless fast charging features inbuilt.

Variants and price

The price of Meizu 17 and 17 Pro differ as per the internal RAM capacities of the smartphones. Check out the bulletin below to find out their estimated price:

Meizu 17 – 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version – Priced at approximately Rs 39,510

Meizu 17 – 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version – Priced at approximately Rs 42,720

Meizu 17 Pro – 12GB RAM and 128GB storage version – Priced at approximately Rs 45,930

Meizu 17 Pro – 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version – Priced at approximately Rs 50,200

Meizu 17 is available in white, green and grey colours, whereas Meizu 17 Pro is available in mint green, white and black colours. Both smartphones run on the Android 10 Fly-me 8.1 operating systems. The smartphones have been launched in China on May 11th; however, there is no word about their international availability yet.
