You can get untethered GPS, notifications, activity tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate, calories intake burned, active minutes, Google Fit along with Google Pay option. The Apple smartwatch does all the regular tasks like tracking exercise, auto-track workouts, etc. It also monitors your stress levels and alerts you to take a break. ECG and other health-related features are the USPs.
Sensors The smartwatch features NFC and Bluetooth connectivity. At the back, you get an ambient light sensor and gyroscope too. This one gets a whole bunch of features such as a compass and blood oxygenation level monitor among several others.
Battery With three custom battery modes, the Gen 5 offers reasonably longer battery compared to its peers. Apple scores over Fossil here as its claimed standby time is 18 hours – without GPS/Bluetooth usage for audio.
OS The Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle gets the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC processor. Though it is the fastest in the Wear OS, it may fall short on performance compared to Apple.
Currently compatible with Android, Fossil is developing a proprietary app for iPhone users as well. 		The Apple Watch Series 4 works only with iPhones featuring the OS5. A 64-bit dual-core processor is offered in the S4 system.
