The Honor 9A smartphone comes with the latest Android 10 version, Android Q operating system. Combined with Magic UI 3.1 the phone is loaded with 3 GB of RAM.  It runs on a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset powered by a 2.3 GHz Octa core Cortex A53 processor. It has an internal storage of 64 GB.

The phone weighs 185 gms and stands tall with a 6.3 IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1600 pixels screen resolution and a 278 ppi pixel density. It has no Gorilla glass but has a glass front. It comes with a comfortable 20:9 aspect ratio that is good for reading, viewing content, and has a clear viewing area since it comes with a 81.44 % screen-to-body ratio. The phone packs a power house of 5000 mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery giving you a good battery life that can cover 2 days.

HONOR TriCams

The latest Honor smartphone is part of the Honor 9 series.The Honor 9A comes with a simple tri-camera setup mounted on a rectangular bump. The main camera is a 13 megapixel wide angle lens with an f/1.8. It has a 5 megapixel ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 and a 2 megapixel shooter for depth and colour with an f/2.4. The main camera supports 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. It is supported by an LED flash. It’s not much but it should click decent pictures for your daily usage. Yes, this is not a camera focused phone but today the tri-camera setup is a default in most smartphones.

The Honor 9A has a 8 Megapixel wide angle lens as  front camera that makes it good for group selfies and video calls. It also supports up to 1080p in video. Neither the front or main camera has video stabilization.

HONOR gives it all

The latest Honor smartphone might not be what you can expect from a budget mid-range phone but it does come packing with a wide variety of the features like Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-fi hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0 and also has in built FM radio antenna. The phone has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and it can also support face unlock. In the era of  type C USB the HONOR 9A comes with microUSB 2.0 but supports  USB On-The-Go.

The HONOR 9A comes with an internal storage of 64 GB and is expandable by a dedicated microSD slot. This dual sim phone supports dual sim standby.  It supports up to 4G/LTE and both are nano sims. The phone does not come with Google play services but has a dedicated app gallery.

Honor released the three new members of the Honor 9 series which are the 9C, 9A and the 9S. All of them are the latest phones from HONOR with attractive features, specs and color options. Add the price tag to it. It fits every segment.

Conclusion

It may lack a USB C port but the phone is a decent entry level phone with the latest Android and 64 GB of storage. Has dual nano sims and a decent camera setup.
