Apple Watch setup requires only one key tool – an Apple iPhone. Even if you’re an Android user, it’s impossible to set up an Apple Watch without an iPhone. Let’s begin setting up your Apple Watch.

Step 1 – Although your new Watch will come charged, it’s advised that you charge it once you take it out of the box.

Step 2 – Watch will ask you to choose your preferred language, do that. It might take a few seconds – so wait patiently.

Step 3 – The Watch will display a beautiful blue bubble of undulating dots, while the iPhone will launch the camera and instruct you to centre the viewfinder on the Watch.

Or you can also hit the ‘i’ button, which will display a code on your Watch that you can enter on your iPhone to pair the devices.

Step 4 – After that, you must select your preferred wrist. Tap either Left or Right to indicate which wrist you intend to wear Apple Watch on.

Only at this point will you need to register your Apple Watch with Apple using your Apple ID.

Step 5 – Enter your Apple ID to activate the Activation Lock and Find My iPhone. If Find My isn’t enabled on your iPhone, you’ll be prompted to enable Activation Lock. If you get an Activation Lock screen, your Apple Watch is already associated with an Apple ID.

Step 6 – On your iPhone, tap Create a Passcode or Add a Long Passcode, then switch to your Apple Watch to enter your code. You may skip if you don’t want to add a passcode.

Step 7 – Your Apple Watch, like your iPhone, has many settings to explore. Although you can change some of them on the Watch through its settings app, most of this can be done on the iPhone more quickly and easily.

Step 8 – Choose whether to Set Up Cellular on your Apple Watch if you have an Apple Watch with LTE connectivity. Following that, you’ll be prompted to activate Apple Pay.

Depending on the card, you may be required to input your card security code or the whole number.

Step 9 – It’s time to learn about the Apple Watch’s Emergency SOS feature, which lets you summon the emergency services by pressing and holding the side button. When you’re ready, press the “Continue” button.

Step 10 – If you want to install these apps onto your Watch right away, select “Install All” or “Choose Later.” Then, all that remains is for your Apple Watch to sync, and you’re done. You’ll receive an alert when it’s finished, and you can resume using your phone as usual.

If you are setting up an Apple Watch without an iPhone, you need to buy a cellular variant of the wearable. To set up your Watch, you’ll have to use an iPhone to start it. Once you do that, you can switch the SIM to your Android phone and enjoy the benefits of an Apple Watch.
